The Sebastopol Office of the Russia’s Investigative Committee has finished criminal proceedings against a 35-year-old local resident charged with killing four people aggravated with robbery, rapes and sexual abuse under Part 2, items “a”, “h” and “j” of Article 131 of the RF penal Code. He is also charged with four counts of rapes aggravated with death threats under Part 2, item “b” of Article 131 and sexual abuse with a death threat under Part 2, item “b” of Article 132, four counts of robbery using violence and entailing grievous bodily harm under Part 4, item “c’ of Article 162, attempted robbery-related murder under Part 3 of Article 30, Part 2, item “h” of Article 105, robbery under Part 1 of Article 162 and attempted rape with a death threat under Part 3 of Article 30, Part 2, item “b” of Article 131 of the RF Penal Code.

A court has recognized the evidence collected the Maritime Territory Office of the Investigative Committee as sufficient to convict 25-year-old Ruslan Ryzhikh. He was found guilty of sexual abuse under Part 4, item “b’ of Article 132, rape under Part 4, item “b” of Article 131 and murder under Part 2, items “c” and “j” of Article 105 of the RF Penal Code.

The fourth department of the Investigative Committee’s Directorate (based in the city of Yekaterinburg) issued a warrant to treat ex-governor of Chelyabinsk Region (2010-2014) Mikhail Yurevich as the accused of bribery under Part 6 of Article 290 and solicitation to slander under Part 4 of Article 33, Part 2 of Article 128.1 of the RF Penal Code.

A court has recognized the evidence collected by the Karelian Republic Office of the Investigative Committee as sufficient to convict debt collector from the city of Novosibirsk Renat Khairitdinov. He was found guilty of arbitrariness under Part 2 of Article 330 and false terror alarm under Part 1 of Article 207 of the RF Penal Code.

The Lipetsk Region Office of the Investigative Committee has opened an investigation in impeding legal professional activity of journalists aggravated by violence and a threat of such violence under Article 144 of the RF Penal Code after a crew of the All-Russian State TV and Radio Broadcasting Company was hampered.

A federal TV channel has shown a story about violation of rights of a large family with four children, one of whom is disabled. The story went on to tell that the Oryol Region authorities have been failing to provide the family with decent housing and to pay them a lump-sum payout since 2010. Journalists assume that it was indifference of officials that might have provoked the death of the children’s mother who had had to make the rounds of official instances to obtain justice.

A court has recognized the evidence collected by the Moscow Directorate of the Investigative Committee as sufficient to convict Elman Karyakin, Irina Yeryomina, Roman Firsov and Igor Drozdov. Depending on the role of each one they were found guilty of a murder under Part 1 of Article 105, stealing a passport under Part 2 of Article 325 and attempted fraud on a very large scale under Part 3 of Article 30, Part 4 of Article 159 of the RF Penal Code.
