The Head Office of the Investigative Committee has finished an investigation against businessman Dmitry Zarubin, Oleg Panov, Oleg Nikonov, Irina Zarubin, Lilia Vorobyova, Svetlana Yakovleva, Vladislav Bagayev and other persons – 18 people in all. Depending on the role of each one, they are charged with setting up, heading and membership in a gang under Parts 1 and 2 of Article 210 and evasion of paying customs duties committed by an organized group on an especially large scale under Part 4 of Article 194 of the RF Criminal Code.

Chairman of the Investigative Committee Alexander Bastrykin has met today with law students of the Lomonosov State University of Moscow. The meeting became a unique one because Mr. Bastrykin has been professor of the criminalistics department of the faculty of law at the University since 2017.

A federal TV channel has showed today coverage about a child who got severely beaten in a settlement in Voronezh Region. The Voronezh Region Office of the Investigative Committee is conducting an investigation against a woman who has many children. The beaten girl, her 3-year-old brother and 12-month-old sister were isolated from the mother and are now being taken care of by relatives and social services.

The Nizhny Novgorod Region Office of the Investigative Committee is investigation a case against 4 citizens of Russia and two citizens of Belarus charged with an attempt on a law-enforcer under Article 317 of the RF Criminal Code. During the probe, the investigation found out that the said people had stolen paintings by famous artists from a museum in Vladimir Region.

A court has recognized the evidence gathered by the Major Cases Directorate of the Investigative Committee as sufficient to convict former employees of the Northwestern Federal District Directorate of the Ministry of the Interior, including its former head Vitaly Bykov, his former deputy Alexander Monastyrshin, former head of financial and economic office Sbetlana Shatova,  head of the logistics center Ivan Lozyuk, and deputy head of the secrecy, staff and state service office Irina Burkhanova. Depending on the role of each one they were found guilty of misappropriation or embezzlement under Part 4 of Article 160, forgery under Part 2 of Article 292 and attempted fraud under Part 3 of Article 30, part 4 of Article 159 of the RF Criminal Code.

A court has recognized the evidence gathered by the Kurgan Region Office of the Investigative Committee as sufficient to convict Sokhibzhon Mamasoliyev, 26. He was found guilty of violation of sanctity of the home under part 1 of Article 139, murder of two or more people under part 2, item “a” of Article 105, theft under Part 2, item “c” of Article 158 and stealing of firearms and ammunition under Part 1 of Article 226 of the RF Criminal Code.
