Investigative Committee holds event attended by People’s Artist of USSR Vladimir Etush

Difficult working conditions, trips, unlimited workdays are all side effects of an investigation job. However, senior officials of the Investigative Committee believe that the staff should be abreast of the cultural life of the country. This is why the Investigative Committee and the Vakhtangov State Academic Theater have a cooperation agreement under which the Investigative Committee has hosted today the performance “Victim Goldiner” starring Russian theater and cinema actor, People’s Artist of the USSR, teacher Vladimir Etush and Honored Artist of Russia Olga Tumaikina.

Senior officials and staff of the Investigative Committee, veterans of investigation, cadets and students of the Moscow Academy of the Investigative Committee came to see the play. Poetic, a bit sad and satiric at the same time, the play tells about difficult relationships between an elderly lonely emigrant from the USSR and young cantankerous American woman of Russian descent.

Veteran of the Great Patriotic War, 95-year-o0ld Mr. Etush performed wholeheartedly making some of the audience cry. According to Chairman of the Investigative Committee Alexander Bastrykin, Mr. Etush is a role model for the younger generation.

“There is a wonderful page in the beautiful story of your life – a feat in the name of your homeland. You are a true warrior, patriot and I am glad that such events have become a good tradition for us. You show our youth an example of how one should serve their homeland,” Mr. Bastrykin said and awarded Mr. Etush with Investigative Committee’s medal For Service.

He also honored Ms. Tumaikina with medal For Assistance.
